·        We are working on measurement using customary units and metric units, perimeter, adding and subtracting 2 and 3 digit numbers, and area

Language Arts:

·        Story: Dear Juno – realistic fiction

·        Skill: drawing conclusions

Science:

·        Physical Science: How do living things use energy

Social Studies:

·        Our Country Long Ago: colonies, using a map scale, learning about Paul Revere

SECOND GRADE EDUCATIONAL GOALS

• Language Arts: to develop high achieving students that comprehend, interpret and appreciate texts through a wide range of print. Students will also apply knowledge of language structure and use spoken, written, and visual language.
• Mathematics: Students will build strong computational skills and develop understanding of measurement, algebra, geometry and data analysis and probability.
• Social Studies:  Students will exhibit the ability to think critically and understand the political systems, the economy, history and geography of our country.
• Science: Students will understand the process of the Scientific Method and understand key concepts of life, physical and earth sciences.
